Dr. Barefield is a graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry.  She has practiced Pediatric Dentistry in the Duncanville area since 1982.   She maintains membership in multiple professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Paul P. Taylor Association of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Greater Dallas Pediatric Dental Society, M.C. Cooper Dental Society, and the American  College of Dentists.
As a Diplomate of the Board of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, she has earned the highest distinction in this specialty. She is honored to serve as an Oral Board Examiner for the AAPD.  In addition, she is a  spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Dallas County Dental Society and has represented both organizations on television and radio.

Dr. Barefield’s volunteer activities include being a provider at H.I.S Bridgebuilders Dental Clinic, Christina’s Smile, Give Kids a Smile, and Texas Mission of Mercy.
