Our total experience with Dr. Barefield and her staff was wonderful.  From my initial phone call to set the appointments, until we completed our first visit was a professional, friendly, and thorough experience.  When the kids walked into the door, they immediately felt at home and relaxed with the toys and actual clubhouse built in the waiting area.  Evan, my four-year old went with the hygienist on his own to take his x-rays and get his cleaning,which is something he NEVER did with his previous dentist.  I accompanied Elyssa, my two-year old, since it was her first dental visit, but she followed instructions and her visit went on without a hitch.  This is more than I expected from both of them.  It just validated that they were comfortable with the staff and the environment, which makes me ecstatic.  The entire operation is centered around the children, as it should be.  We are happy that Dr. Barefield is here and she is definitely the "Best of the Southwest"!

When looking for a dentist for Cameron, my six-year-old son, we looked at several but we liked the entire staff that worked with Dr. Barefield.  The front office staff is friendly and very informative.  The back office staff is also friendly, efficient and Cameron has gone to each visit (with me in the waiting room) by himself without any problems.  ...The office and staff is kid-friendly but they also take care of business!!

From the moment I met Dr. Barefield, I knew she   she was the perfect match for our three-year-old.  Dr.Barefield spoke directly to my daughter, calmed her fears, and made her first visits to the dentist stress-free and even pleasant.  Our little girl loves Dr. Donna and never dreads her visits.  As an overly protective mother, that means so much to me.  We trust Dr. Barefield; she's knowledgeable, kind, and has an amazing ability to connect with a child in her care.

Dear Dr. Barefield,

I brought my daughter, Brianna Lee, to your office yesterday for an emergency visit.  She had been hit in the mouth at school by a swing on the playground.  Her front tooth was loose and bleeding.

Our primary dentist would be giving a referral (as they don't see children under the age of six), but their office closed at 2:00.  ...They assured me that I would be able to have Brianna evaluated regardless of having a referral the following day.

Initially I tried another dentist...closer to my home (it was already after 2:00), the office personnel would not even talk to me without a referral, then suggested I pay out of pocket for the expenses.  I was so desperate that I agreed to this and said that I would be there right away.  The office staff became irritated with me and said. "Wait a minute. I have to see if we can even see her today.  We DO have OTHER patients, you know..."

I hung up with that office and called your office.  I spoke to Valerie...a seasoned, trained, and compassionate professional.  I told her I would not have the referral until the next day.  Valerie said, "Don't worry about that now...."  I couldn't believe the difference between your office and the one I had previously contacted!.....Valerie urged me to bring Brianna in right away and went on to inform me that she WOULD be worked in.......

Between Valerie, Dr. Shah, and the other wonderful people on your staff, what was an emotional and difficult situation was handled with urgency, professionalism and consideration.  I know you must feel blessed to have such a wonderful team to support your practice!

We look forward to Brianna's next dental visit, and thank you and your staff tremendously (especially Valerie) for going the extra mile to give top care on behalf of our child.
